Diwan Counseling is a private practice for mental well-being founded by Marie-Alix Diwan, located in Geneva, Switzerland.
Diwan Counseling offers two main services both in-person and online. The first service is Individual Counseling. The second service is administering and interpreting the Myers-Briggs Personality Assessments (MBTI).
By means of Individual Counseling and the MBTI Personality Assessments, Diwan Counseling can help you on your journey toward healing, self-discovery and personal growth.
My name is Marie-Alix and I am a registered psychosocial counselor with the Swiss Association for Counseling (SGfB). I am also a certified practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Step I & Step II Instruments with The Myers & Briggs Foundation. I hold a BA in Media Studies and Philosophy from the University of Virginia and a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Webster in Geneva, Switzerland. I am Swiss and American. I grew up in Switzerland and continued my education in the United States. I worked in New York for several years in the venture capital industry before moving back to Switzerland. In my free time, I enjoy being with my husband and our pets. I am also passionate about all sport.
My Favourite Part of Counseling
Part of being human includes facing adversity. We all experience it, at different moments and to varying degrees. The painful effects of adversity can be minimal or they can be long-lasting, even spanning across generations. However, part of being human also includes Resilience. As humans, we have the ability to think, to ponder about our past, present, and future, to communicate, and to make our own decisions. The parts that I love most about counseling include being with the client on their journey to self-awareness and self-discovery. Ultimately, nothing makes me happier when a client has reached their goal(s). This achievement is marked by a celebration of their hard work and merited growth. I am especially passionate about helping the client uncover their authentic self. I believe a reliable roadmap to Resilience and Happiness includes living authentically and embodying the uniqueness alive in each of us.

What My Clients Say About Me
“You are very different than the counselors I met before, they would only tell me to make friends but you would tell me exactly how to do it”
“I love all our sessions together and I am really thankful for them, I feel like I’ve learned so much about myself, who I am and what I’m feeling”
"I will always remember what you taught me, boundaries, listening to my feeling... How loving someone actually feels, how real friends are actually the ones who celebrate your success together and how life is always up and down that it is okay to feel sad and how to embrace sadness... I'm really grateful for everything"
What I Say About My Clients
"It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried.” I wholeheartedly agree with Carl Rogers, the client is the most important person on our journey together. Every client has a unique story and I have the privilege of witnessing.
